Annual account of the 98th business year at Magnet-SchultzOn 30.06.2010 Magnet-Schultz Memmingen, specialist for electromagnetic actuators and sensors (MSM, www.Magnet-Schultz.com) has completed its 98th business year. Due to the financial crises the turnover has come from €200 million in the record year 2007/2008 to 142 million in /09 and in /10 it has raised again on 150 million.
By means of a series of actions and consequent short-time work with the mutual objective to keep together as much staff as possible MSM has mastered the setback and has stand the preconditions to perceive the chances for rebound without delay. For the business year 2010/2011 a turnover of 175 million is scheduled.
MSM keeps on cultivating solid customers in very different sectors. Many of them have already achieved the level they have had before the crises.
Innovation of products and procedures has also been pushed intensively during the crises. New challenging applications in automotive, aerospace, automation, medical technology and ATEX generate first additional sales and contribute to the rebound.
Thanks to very good equipment economical investments could be made during the crises without prejudice. The quiet period, however, has been utilized for renovations.
MSM employs 1.375 persons in Memmingen, the MSMgroup 1.750 persons in total and skilled workers and engineering will be hired again. Short workers availed themselves of the opportunity of varied job-training. Furthermore MSM could offer a permanent position to each apprentice. The other companies Prefag near Karlsruhe, company W. E. Schultz (Switzerland) und Magnet-Schultz of America Inc. (USA) remain important and future-oriented parts of the group.
On 1st May resp. 3th Juli 2010 the TV channels Bayern 3 resp. SAT 1 showed positive TV-reports about Magnet-Schultz managing the crises. On 14th August MSM has been cited in a relevant article in the New York Times World.
