On the occasion of  the Constitution Day on 01.12.2017, Mr. Wolfgang E. Schultz was awarded with the  silver medal of the Bavarian Constitution from president of the Bavarian Parliament Barbara Stamm  and honoured with a laudatory speech:

After the sudden death of his father in 1969 and at the age of only 23 years, Mr. Schultz took over the management of company Magnet-Schultz GmbH & Co. KG. Today, the group employs 2,600 persons, with 2,000 largest employer in Memmingen. In his entrepreneurial work, Mr. Schultz was particularly characterised by high investment confidence in research, development and facilities, a considerable environmental awareness, deep attachment to the home venue of the company as well as by the dedication to the qualified training of young people. At the moment, 190 youngsters are trained in Memmingen which corresponds to a training rate of almost 10 percent  which is considerably higher than the German average. Furthermore, Mr. Schultz has been voluntary member in numerous committees for many years: Since 1980 in the support group of the University of Applied Sciences Kempten, from 1999 to 2015 as president of the university council which he statutorily left as „Honorary Senator“; from 1999 to 2013 as vice president of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce of Swabia; since 2002 as founding director of Allgäu Airport GmbH & Co. KG. Over decades, projects with social and cultural content were promoted effectively and activel. In the year 2009, Mr. Schultz founded the European Award „EUMérite“ which is intended to honour personalities who clearly commit themselves to ethic market economy.

 

With this exclusive award, the Bavarian Parliament wants to thank all citizens of our country who actively commit themselves to the values of the Bavarian Constitution and thereby demonstrate that there are many possibilities to fill it with life.

When subsequently asked about the honour, Mr. Schultz commented as follows:

„I have gratefully accepted this medal – well aware that also our magnificent MSM team is honoured.“
